My idea of holiday is more of ‘Do nothing & relax’ and I was always reluctant to hit a big city for a holiday. However, my wife has always been keen on trying different avenues. After multiple beach and mountain holidays, she finally convinced me for a holiday in a cosmopolitan city. While I was still not completely convinced ( even after the booking :P) , little did I know some good fun was waiting for me in Dubai. A perfect blend of City, Malls, Beaches, Desert and many more made my 5 day holiday full of fun. Dubai has a perfect making for a break that anyone looks for from monotonous job and mundane lifestyle.
The trip started with a Dhow Cruise in the beautiful Dubai creek. A perfect 2-hour fancy boat ride that helped me get the required tempo for the upcoming adventures in Dubai. Our boat was one of the many nicely lightened boats that were around, with music from all over the world. While the dinner was nicely arranged, it wasn’t the end of the night. It was only after we saw the local dance performance on the deck we realized that best is always left for the last. The gentle, cold breeze on the upper deck helped me get in the Holiday mode
Day 2 was mainly focused on the Dubai City tour. The city is so beautiful with skyscrapers all around, right from the world’s tallest tower (Burj Khalifa) to the world’s tallest hotel (The Gevora Hotel). The city has preserved its history in various forms across the city, like the Dubai museum and various mosques. Dubai mall, world’s biggest mall, that has over 1200 brands, is a shopper’s paradise. The evening was spent nicely on 124th floor, At The Top, of the majestic Burj Khalifa. Being on such a height makes you feel you are the king of your life. It also gave a perfect view of the entire city
Next day tour started a little late, post lunch. And guess what, yes, it was time for the Iconic Desert Safari in the Land Cruiser. It’s an hour ride from the city to reach the desert. When the Land cruiser takes you to no-where in the desert on a half an hour adventurous drive, you feel the thrill of Dubai. The drive is followed by activities like camel ride, etc. The adventure is followed by some fun at the desert camp. Barbeque dinner, belly dance, Hookah, a pic with Falcon and many more. All these together took care of us for the next 2-3 hours and gave us the perfect relaxation.
Day 4 was a 2-hour drive to Abu Dhabi for city tour and the Ferrari World Tour. The drive is a beautiful one across the desert and I actually felt like driving (but I did not as I did not have a license and fines were heavy :P) . Abu Dhabi is such a fascinating city with such amazing infrastructure and safest country in the world. Grand mosque was the most important attraction of the whole day, which was followed by a 4-hour tour of the adventure and thrill filled Ferrari World. It has everything for a Ferrari lover, latest cars, accessories to shop, a journey through the history and crazy rides. All these were perfectly placed to take our holiday towards a closure.
Last but not the least – we spent the last day shopping iconic at Meena Bazar for family and friends and the last few hours in Dubai was spent at the beautiful Dubai creek, enjoying the sunset, discussing about last 4 days with my wife while the breeze helped recollect the memories.
If you are struggling to make a decision on your next holiday with limited resource (time & money), go to Dubai. Some amazing experience that you will cherish for lifetime, awaits you!
